Smile Education are looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic SEN Teaching Assistant to join one of our clients based in Dudley. This particular SEN provision supports 120 students, ranging from primary to secondary age, with a variety of needs including ADHD, ADD, SLD, MLD, SEMH, and challenging behaviours.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide tailored support to students with diverse SEN requirements.
- Assist in managing challenging behaviours in a positive and supportive manner.
- Work closely with the teaching staff to implement individualised learning strategies.
- Foster a nurturing and inclusive environment that encourages student development and independence.
- Monitor student progress and provide regular feedback to teachers and parents.
- Minimum Level 2 qualification in a relevant field (e.g., Education, Childcare, SEN Support).
- Recent experience in a similar role, supporting students with SEN.
- Strong understanding of ADHD, ADD, SLD, MLD, SEMH, and strategies for supporting challenging behaviour.
- Self-motivated, proactive, and hands-on with a passion for making a difference in students’ lives.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Knowledge and understanding of EHCP's.
- Hold an enhanced DBS on the update service or willing to apply for a new DBS.
- Able to provide a minimum of two references covering the past two years. One must comment on your interaction with child.
