Smile Education is working in partnership with a successful and inclusive secondary academy within a well-established Multi-Academy Trust in the West Midlands. This is an exciting opportunity to join a thriving Humanities department within a school that values high-quality teaching, collaboration and staff wellbeing.

The successful candidate will become part of a supportive, close-knit team committed to delivering engaging and ambitious Humanities lessons that inspire curiosity, critical thinking and a strong understanding of the world.

This role is available on a temp-to-perm basis, with the opportunity to secure a permanent position and be paid to scale following a successful probation period. A TLR may be available for candidates with the experience or ambition to take on additional responsibility.
Applications are warmly welcomed from ECTs, experienced teachers, and those returning to teaching.

The role:
  • Teaching Humanities across Key Stages 3 and 4 (e.g. History, Geography and/or RE depending on specialism)
  • Planning and delivering engaging, inclusive and high-quality learning experiences
  • Inspiring students to think critically, ask questions and engage with the wider world
  • Maintaining high expectations of learning, progress and behaviour
  • Working collaboratively with colleagues to share best practice and support department development
  • Using technology effectively to enhance teaching and learning
