Job Title: Special Educational Needs Teaching Assistant (SEN TA)
Location: Wolverhampton , West Midlands

Smile Education are working in partnership with one of our trusts called 'Endeavour' who are looking for an expereinced and confident Teaching Assistant to support a student based at one of their Wolverhampton schools on a 2:1 basis. The role is to start as soon as possible on a full time basis through to the end of the academic year.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide 2:1 support for a student who has an EHCP in place.
• The student has very challenging behaviour and struggles to regulate his emotions and stay within a class environment.
• To maintain the safety of the student and others around them..
• Working in partnership with the larger team and the students or support members to provide a safe and stimulating environment.
• Assist in the implementation of individualised education plans (IEPs).
• Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment.
• Collaborate with teachers and other professionals to ensure the well-being and progress of the student
• Implement behaviour management strategies to address challenging behaviours and descalate situations.
• Support students in developing essential life skills.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Relevant experience working with children with special educational needs.
• Recent experience of supporting student s with more challenging needs is desirable.
• Hold a minimum of a Level 2 in Health & Social Care or equivalent
• Understanding of ASD, ADHD, Complex needs, and challenging behaviour.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for supporting children's learning.
