Our North West Director Kash has achieved so many promotions at Smile Education, we’ve had to add new levels to our structure more times than we can count!
From joining us as a graduate in 2015, Kash’s career has flourished, so much so that he’s now leading our newest regional division in the North West.
We spoke to Kash to find out exactly how he did it, as well as talk about some of the advice he’d give to someone looking to enter the world of recruitment.
Hi, I’m Kash, and I’m the Director of Smile Education North West, which is based in Greater Manchester.
I joined Smile Education way back in 2015 as a fresh graduate, and since then, I’ve gone on to recruit for both inner-city and suburban schools, as well as becoming the director for our newest division here in Manchester.
When I started at Smile Education, I was immediately impressed by the transparency of their promotion structure.
At Smile there’s opportunity to get promoted every three months, giving you a really clear pathway to what your career with us could look like.
I got my first promotion very quickly, and this ambition helped me to triple my salary in the space of 2 to 3 years, which is a massive achievement.
From the get go, I was also making commission on every booking I made. Everyone gets at least 10% commission on each booking, with no threshold you have to hit – plus, you’ll have uncapped potential to achieve more.
I’ve got a drive for achieving results and ensuring I prioritise a value-added client and candidate experience, and as I grew with Smile Education, so did my candidates.
If you really want to stand out, make a name for yourself within an industry and learn from the best in the business, you could thrive in education recruitment.
Over the years at Smile I’ve loved the fact that my hard work has actually made a difference. We’re big on celebrating each other’s achievements and successes, and your hard work never goes unnoticed.
Profit is shared back into the business to help reward employees with things like regular social events, a brilliant holiday allowance, a paid for holiday each year and loads more incentives that EVERYBODY benefits from.
We also get reduced working hours in the school holidays, which has meant that I’ve had the privilege to go on some amazing trips over the years.
Fast forward today, and I’m now directing Smile Education North West, which just goes to show the opportunities you’ll have at Smile to grow your career and make a name for yourself.
If you’re ambitious, motivated, have a bunch of fresh ideas, you’ll love it here. If you’ve got what it takes to own your work with us, you’ll be given rewards that actually matter, and have a high degree of autonomy that will give you the tools and encouragement to flourish in your career.
If you’ve got ambition and want the support you’ll need to make your dream career a reality? Take a look at some of the internal roles we have available at Smile Education and we could be interviewing you next!
