Throughout the year, we run a number of training workshops in different locations across the West Midlands. Most recently, we hosted a cover supervisor training session to help our aspiring teachers gain more confidence in the classroom. 

The cover supervisor training which we provide aims to engage and inform. The training package has been specifically designed by and for cover supervisors just like you. The best thing about the training is? It’s completely free for those who are registered with our supply teaching agency.

Our most recent training was delivered, as it always is, in two parts. The first half the course focused on Safeguarding and Behaviour Management and was run by Safer Recruitment Trainer and our MD, Katy. This part of the training explores the importance of ‘Keeping Children Safe in Education’ and how to appropriately deal with and report safeguarding concerns.

The second of half the full-day workshop turns its attention to behaviour management and was run by the lovely Charnice. During this portion, we discuss techniques and work together to build a picture of how best to manage the classroom. This is the most in-depth part of the training and looks at engagement, entry to the classroom, positive behaviour management and using consequences effectively. As well as providing the theory, we also looked at real-life scenarios and the best way to react to difficult situations.
