Our Director; Emma leads our permanent division, placing teachers, teaching assistants and school staff in permanent roles across the West Midlands.
Once you have been offered a permanent role in one of our partner schools you might be wondering how you should go about accepting the job offer. As we have 13 years of experience in education recruitment, we know that it is always a good idea to formally accept a job offer so here are a few tips on how to do so.
This is the perfect opportunity to express your gratitude and excitement for the new job you have been offered. Personally thank the school and headteacher that offered you the job and anyone else who has helped you through the process, this will give a really great first impression and is extremely thoughtful. While we don’t expect a thank you - this is our job - we’re always appreciative, after all, everyone likes to be recognised.
It is always a good idea to re-confirm the details of your employment. This includes your job title, start date, salary and benefits that have been discussed as well as any training and career development that has been promised during the interview. In most cases, the recruiter (Emma) will do this for you but having good communication with the recruiter ensures that everyone is on the same page.
Don’t be scared to show your excitement for the new opportunity once you have accepted the role. You can also talk about looking forward to joining the school and being a part of the team on social media!
Getting a permanent role is an exciting step in your career development so be sure to celebrate all you have achieved! To apply for a permanent role in a school send us your CV.
The above tips can also be applied to accepting an internal job offer at Smile for those that are looking for a new role in recruitment.
