With Easter just around the corner, teachers and teaching assistants may be scrambling to think of some new and exciting Easter crafts for their students. 

We all have fond memories of painting boiled eggs and decorating Easter bonnets at school and these activities are sure to get your students egg-cited for the holiday but if you’re looking for something new, these activities are no yolk!

Decorate Bunny Cookies

For a cute and yummy task get your students to decorate some biscuits as little bunnies. This would work well in primary schools or even secondary schools as a fun, themed food technology lesson.

Our favourite design were some adorable bunny butts that might get some of your kids to crack up. Decorating biscuits are easy, all you need are some digestive biscuits, mini marshmallows, coloured icing and circle sprinkles. 

ECO egg boxes

Get your students to think about recycling in a fun and different way with eco egg boxes!

Ask your students to bring in egg boxes to decorate with paint, pens or sequins (whatever you like really). You can then fill them with sweets, chocolates or other treats that the children can give out as an Easter present!

Easter bunting

Have this as one of your first tasks so that you can decorate your classroom with lots of Easter bunting. This is perfect for primary schools as you can use anything from paper, card or clay and decorate them with paint, pens, sequins or tissue paper, anything you want. Your students will be so happy to have their creations put up on display for everyone to see during the lead up to Easter.

ECO Easter desk organisers

 Another eco-friendly activity is to get your students to make Easter-themed desk organisers. This activity is best suited to primary aged or SEN students and accessible for anyone, after all, everybody has recycled paper rolls in our homes. Like the rest of the activities in this blog, encourage your students to be creative, they can make a bunny, a chick or any kind of Easter Design using the paper rolls and once they are fully dr they can take them home to hold all of their pens whilst they’re doing their homework.

Make bracelets for HHHO

Help Harry Help Others (HHHO) is a charity aimed at supporting those affected by cancer in the West Midlands. If you’re looking to get your students to help others whilst being creative try making bracelets and selling them to raise money, there are a few design ideas on Harry’s website and all you need is a few beads and string.
