Support for support workers - 17-12-2019 - - 0 comments
Why become a support worker?

Why become a support worker? Well, ultimately, it’s a rewarding job. Our residential division explains why...

As a support worker, you will make a positive difference to someone’s life, no matter how big or small. Being a support worker is an incredibly rewarding job as it allows you to build relationships with service users, who may otherwise struggle socially and emotionally. While this can at first be challenging, making those connections can give you a sense of personal achievement.

For many it’s much more than just a job, it is a role which provides a sense of purpose. To the families that you work alongside, you are not just a support worker, you are often considered to be a part of the family, someone they can reach out to in troubled times.

In your role as a support worker, you’ll learn new things every day both on the job and through training. As a teaching and children’s residential agency, we offer a range of training. Team Teach Training is one course in particular that we recommend to all of our supply and bank staff who work with people with special needs. However, settings will also provide training too. Taking part in all the training offered to you will not only allow you to develop but also ensure that you are giving the best care possible.

Social care is a rapidly growing sector so there are always opportunities to grow and progress within the sector. In addition, to support workers we also recruit for deputy and registered managers for care homes, day centres and respite care centres. With that said, if you do know anyone looking for any of the above roles, you can refer a friend to us and receive £100 from us as a thank you for doing so.

If you’re interested in getting into support submit your CV to us today and our Residential Consultant, Maisie, will be in touch.
