What is a resourcer?

You may have heard of recruitment consultants but what are recruitment resourcers? Charlotte, one member of our growing resourcing team, explains more about the role that resourcers play in recruitment.

---

Resourcers support some of our busiest consultants with staff recruitment to fill the huge demand of roles from schools in their area. We work hard to find the best talent and support that talent (AKA you) through the registration process ensuring that you’ve satisfied all our safeguarding checks.

Our resourcing team is made up of:

Vicky and Georgia – who supports those looking for work in Birmingham primary schools

Danielle – who supports graduates and those looking for work in secondary schools

Chelsea - who supports those looking for work in Sandwell, Dudley and Halesowen primary schools

Jess - who supports those looking for work in SEN schools in the Midlands

Charlotte (myself) - who supports those looking for work in Walsall, Wolverhampon, Cannock and Telford primary schools

The role of a recruitment resourcer is to guide you through our registration process in a bid to make it as straightforward as possible. We’re an APSCo Compliance+ accredited agency which means that we go beyond the typical safeguarding standards so, you may find that we ask you for a little more information than other agencies. But don’t let that put you off – this protects you as well as the students you’ll be working alongside.

During the registration process, we take our time to get to know you. You’ll take part in an online interview with us, where we’ll find out what year groups you want to work with, how far you want to travel, why you love working in schools to help us build a clearer picture of you as an educator.

Of course, we’ll also talk to you about the benefits of supply work (there are many) and the benefits of choosing Smile Education as your teaching agency. Should you have any concerns or questions about working for an agency or temporary work, then we can address those too. We want you to feel confident in your decision to work with us so ask away – no question is too silly or too challenging!

Once you have completed our registration process and satisfied our compliance checks (we have you DBS and references back), we will then hand you over to your own dedicated consultant. Our consultant pride themselves on working with some of the best schools in the Midlands and will be the person responsible for finding you work in a school local to you. But don’t worry, we’ll always be there in the background and are more than happy to have a chat on the phone!

---

Hopefully, that clears things up! If you would like to talk to one of our lovely recruitment resourcers about finding work in a school near you, then get in touch. Alternatively, send your CV our way and, we’ll pass your details directly over to them.
