We are really proud to have officially launched our residential division. This has been something that as a company we have wanted to do for a long time and we are so pleased that the time has finally come! As a company, we are very passionate about ensuring that children of all ages and backgrounds get the care and support that they need, whether this is in a classroom environment or residential home or a respite centre.
Launching our new division means that we have also welcomed a new recruitment consultant to our team. Maisie has joined us from another recruitment agency and has almost 4 years of experience in healthcare recruitment. She’s already off to an amazing start after making her first permanent placement!
We work with and support a variety of different settings including children's residential homes, residential schools, respite care centres and day centres. The services support children aged from 8-18, who may present with a range of complex social, emotional, educational and behavioural needs.
The services are typically open 365 days per year and shifts range from 6-12 hours and can be day or night. We recruit for all residential roles from residential support workers to registered managers and offer day-to-day, long-term and permanent positions.
The registration will follow the same process as always but for those who are unfamiliar, here’s a brief summary:
-Starts with a phone call, where we will discuss what you are looking for and conduct some safeguarding checks.
-We’ll then send an interview to confirm your interview time and date and what documents you’ll need to bring along (DBS, qualifications etc.). In addition to a link to our online compliance process.
-We’ll then conduct a face-to-face interview. You will meet one of our administrators as well as your consultant.
-Following your interview, we’ll then begin collecting your references.
-Once the above stages are all complete, we’ll then send you an email to let you know that you are compliant.
To be eligible for any of our residential roles you must have at least 6 months experience in a similar role and a Level 2 or 3 in Health and Social subject. When searching for support workers, Maisie looks for people who are confident, strong-willed and able to cope under pressure or in difficult situations.
If you would like to apply for one of our support worker or management jobs or are a residential setting who are looking for staff, please don’t hesitate to get int touch. You can reach Maisie on 0121 210 5019 or email maise@smile-education.co.uk.
