We are an APSCo Compliance+ accredited agency. For those of you who are unfamiliar with this, it means that as an education recruitment agency we go beyond statutory safeguarding standards which helps safeguard and improve outcomes for children and vulnerable adults.
During our most recent audit in October 2019, we are very proud to say that we not only passed but did so with flying colours, achieving a score of 99%.
Our APSCo auditor stated:
"There was clear evidence throughout the organisation that Smile has a commitment to safeguarding. This is clearly evidenced on the company website and through interviews with the Managing Director and staff."
Achieving such a high mark is a fantastic achievement for us as a company and shows how seriously we take safeguarding. Showing that we mean what we say when we say we wouldn’t place anyone into our schools that we wouldn’t want teaching our own children.
What this means for school leaders, teachers, teaching assistants and non-teaching staff who might want to register and work with Smile
We do have a strict compliance process, but don’t let this put you off! It is designed to protect both you and the students. To give you an insight into the process we’ll run a DBS check, need two professional references and be required to meet with you for a face-to-face interview. For a more in-depth look, our registration process click here.
What this means for our schools
You can be certain that all of our teaching and non-teaching staff have undergone rigorous compliance checks and are safe to work with and be around students in your school.
