The Smile Education team are delighted to announce that we’ve passed our latest APSCo Compliance+ Audit with a score of 99%!
As members of APSCo, we are audited each year to ensure we are upholding a high standard of safeguarding compliance.
We’re immensely proud of our amazing team, who have worked tirelessly to make this possible and always put safeguarding at the heart of everything they do.
APSCo is a recruitment trade body whose goal is to make sure that businesses in the recruitment industry maintain top-quality standards. To do this, they provide recruitment agencies like us with guidance and support, as well as performing thorough checks on processes to ensure that they are on track with compliance and best practices.
As a supply teaching agency and ASPCo Compliance Plus member, we go through a yearly audit to check that our team and processes adhere to the highest safeguarding standards. This includes a review of our files and policies, as well as interviews with the team to check that these standards are being upheld at all times. Scoring an impressive 99% shows just how dedicated we are to keeping children and young people in our community safe and well looked after.
Auditors at APSCo highlighted that there was “clear evidence” throughout their inspection that Smile Education have a “continuing commitment to safeguarding”.
They praised our “experienced and knowledgeable staff team”, commending our “extremely experienced” Managing Director and praising her delivery of training “not just in house but also to external services, such as local schools”.
They went on to describe our “eye to detail” in getting to know both schools and candidates, highlighting our “work with managed service providers” which showcases the “integrity” of our approach to safer recruitment and compliance.
Auditors also noted our commitment to innovation and improvement, pinpointing that “continuing development and improvement of systems” means that “recruitment is undertaken to a high standard”.
Our registration process is designed to ensure the safety of both the students you'll work with and yourself. Here's what it involves:
· You'll need to provide at least two references
· You’ll need to share details of your work history and education with us
· If you don't have a DBS check, we can help you get one
When your school chooses Smile Education as its recruitment partner, you can have confidence in the thorough checks we perform on all staff we work with. We take safeguarding seriously and it underpins everything we do.
Each candidate goes through a detailed process to ensure they are not only compliant, but are the right match for your school and its community. Our goal is to become an extension of your team, so you can be sure that we’ll prioritise your peace of mind as well as the safety and wellbeing of the children and young people that attend your school.
We’re so proud of our amazing team. They’ve worked hard to make this result possible, and put safeguarding at the heart of everything they do here at Smile Education.
