We all know how important reading is for children. For some children, reading is an enjoyable activity, but for others, it can feel like a chore. This is why it’s so important for schools to instil a love of reading in their pupils, as this can encourage children to read for pleasure, and in turn, read more.
According to the National Literacy Trust, data shows that just 28% of pupils read every day, and less than half of pupils report that they enjoy reading.
Lucy Neath is the lead for reading at Mowbray Education Trust, who have partnered with Smile Education as a Managed Service Provider to add value to their recruitment process.
