Since 2021, Smile Education’s chosen charity has been Help Harry Help Others, a local organisation that supports individuals battling cancer, as well as their families.
We’re immensely proud to be supporting such an important cause for the fourth year running. We’ve ran, baked and festive feasted our way to raising money for Help Harry Help Others.
HHHO is a charity that is very close to our hearts, as they were one of the charities to support our former colleague Leasa during her battle with cancer. Sadly, Leasa passed away in October 2020.
HHHO is a charity that was started by Harry Moseley before he lost his battle with cancer in 2011 aged just 11 years old.
Due to the impact that cancer had on their family, his mum Georgie decided to continue with Harry's incredible work and made HHHO a registered cancer charity in 2012 so that she could help other families where she felt more support was needed.
The charity aims to provide support to those who need it in 3 ways.
Help Harry Help Others is unique in its efforts to not only help find a cure for brain cancer via their HelpCURE fund but also in helping adults and children who are affected by any cancer.
Help Harry Help Others offer grants through their HelpCOPE fund to those who are suffering financial hardship and also run a Drop-in Cancer Support Centre via their HelpCARE fund.
The centre offers over 17 free services on-site and supports adults and children with every inch of support they may need outside of treatment.
Over the last four years, Smile Education have done their bit to raise money for this incredible cause. From taking part in the Birmingham Walkathon, hosting bake off events, taking part in dress down days and even racing around an inflatable 5k obstacle course, the entire Smile team has gotten involved.
We also have our own charity committee, where members of the Smile team meet regularly to plan fundraising events and initiatives for Help Harry Help Others.
In 2024, support from individuals and businesses like Smile Education has allowed Help Harry Help Others to achieve the following:
According to Help Harry Help Others, in 2025 they will be expanding their services to include “smoking cessation programmes, liver screenings, and digital training workshops to address digital poverty, among other initiatives”.
Georgie Mosley, Harry’s Mom and Charity Founder, said “The best gift of all we can give is to not only be there to support clients with issues they face due to a cancer diagnosis, but also help them to rebuild their lives following cancer or caring for a loved one with cancer.”
You can support Help Harry Help Others by donating to their JustGiving page.
You could also go the extra mile by setting up your own fundraising activity!
