Are you a supply teacher or teaching assistant looking for some help and advice? If so, you are in the right place. Our blogs offer tips and tricks on everything from classroom management to interview tips and support, along with day in the life case studies from real supply teachers, ECTs and cover supervisors. Our chosen Charity of the Year is Help Harry Help Others. HHHO helps to fund vital research into finding a cure for cancer, gives grants to those of any age or type of cancer suffering from financial hardship and has a cancer support drop-in centre in Birmingham. So, to raise a little bit of money to help HHHO we have decided to put on fundraisers within our teams.
Here's what each team are doing to raise funds:
Elisha, Kelly, Adam, Katy, Nicola and Ellie will be taking inspiration from HHHO's 21+1 initiative, completing 22 challenges over the next few weeks. Some of these include doing karaoke for 22 minutes, sharing 22 reasons Harry inspires them and a 22-minute plank.
Their Just Giving page can be found here: https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/smile-education-hhho.
Our secondary and Sen teams, made up of Liv, Stella and Kirsty, held a raffle with a family Easter basket that included prosecco, chocolate and facemasks for some Easter relaxation and an egg decorating kit to entertain the kids. At only £2 per ticket, the lucky winner, Lorna H, was announced on the last day of the term.
If you didn’t have time to buy a ticket you can still donate on their Just Giving page: https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/smilesecondary.
Our finance and admin team, which includes Satpreet, Mark, Louise, Nasriin, Amber and Janisha, plan to climb a staggering 26,000 steps by July. This equates to the following famous landmarks:
S = Statue of Liberty (354 steps)
M = Mont Blanc ( 24,035 steps)
I = Individual Personal Records
L = Leaning Tower of Pisa (251 steps)
E = Empire State Building (1860 steps)
Give them some motivation by donating through their just giving page: https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/smileclimbers.
Our Black country team, Hannah, Chelsea, Emma Sheldon, Emma Mcdermott and Bethan, will be taking part in a sponsored dog walk to raise money for HHHO.

Mary, Kash, Vicky, Luke, Sham and Kristen, our Birmingham primary team, will be bringing in some yummy treats for their fundraising bake sale after Easter!

We are looking forward to all of the exciting fundraising plans and are excited to raise some money to support such an important cause.
