Victoria graduated university during the pandemic and found the current job market challenging with many roles requiring experience that she wasn't able to obtain due to the restrictions in place. Our Graduate Academy has given her the skills necessary and the experience needed to find a job in the field of her degree; psychology.
We asked her a few questions to help others who may be considering joining make a more informed decision. This is what she had to say.

I was informed by my friend about Smile Education and through this I discovered how they allocate graduates to a variety of Graduate Teaching Assistant roles. I was attracted to this because after graduating from university, it was extremely difficult to secure a job, not only due to the pandemic affecting employability rate but also because majority of employers require candidates with experience, which is difficult to obtain as the opportunities for job roles in the desired field are not there.
By being at Smile Education, they were able to allocate me to a local school with the role of being a teaching assistant. This benefits me because it gives me the opportunity to build up on some experience to which I can then add this onto my CV. With this new role, I have learnt a variety of things such as the detailed role and importance of a teaching assistant and how the school itself functions.
My desired plans after Graduate Academy are to hopefully find a job in the Psychology field which is what my university degree is in. With the help of Graduate Academy, this should make the process slightly more easier as I can now add this experience onto my profile.
